Easihold is a Revolutionary New Patented Stone Binder - Capable of Bonding and Fixing Loose Stones in Place.

Easihold is a water based, non-harmful, easy-to-use binder that leaves stones permeable, with a protective sheen.

Protects Stones - Easihold coats and protects stones, leaving an attractive protective silk sheen which helps prevents staining over time.

Finalist at Chicago Show - Easihold was a finalist in the best product category at the International Garden Centre Convention, Chicago, 2019.

Guaranteed Great Results - Follow the instructions on the leaflet you'll receive with your bottle. Don't over saturate your stones / mulch, use at the advised coverage rate and ensure conditions are dry. Doing this will allow you to achieve fantastic results every time!

IMPORTANT - READ BEFORE USE: Over-saturation, caused by using more liquid than the recommended amount per square metre, will leave the surface wet and un-bonded. For best results, read our application guide which is available through the QR code on the bottle.

Each 5L/1.1 gallon covers up to 8m² (up to 85 ft²) for Pour On application and up to 14m² (150.70 ft²) for Spray On application. 1-2 coats recommended. We recommend to use a layer of stones approximately 20mm (3/5" - 1") in depth.

Easihold is a Revolutionary New Patented Stone Binder - Capable of Bonding and Fixing Loose Stones in Place.

Easihold is perfect for use on new or existing stones. Dirt and silt deposits ought to be washed off prior to application - and ensure the weather conditions are good for the 48 hours post application.

Application & Coverage:
Easihold is applied by 3 different application techniques - Pour OnSpray On or Mix In.

The Pour On method is the easiest, requiring just a watering can and away you go! We recommend to use up to a maximum of 1 litre per 1.2m² and 1x5 Litre Jerry can covers 6-8m² using Pour On Method per coat.

Spraying is more efficient because the Easihold will go further, but this method requires an airless sprayer. We recommend to use up to 1 litre per 2.8m² and 1x5 Litre Jerry can cover 12-14m² using Spray On Method per coat.

The mixing technique gives you the most robust result - ensuring all stones are coated evenly with Easihold. However, mixing involves a little more effort. We recommend to use 0.8L to 1L of Easihold for 1x 25kg bag of stones and 1x5 Jerry can cover 6m² using hand-mix (6x bags of 25kg stones @ 20mm depth).

Suitable Stones:
Not all stones are suitable for Easihold application. Stones between 4mm and 10mm in diameter work the best, but even stones up to 20mm can work well if angular and clean. You can read more about suitable stones in our blog here

You can buy suitable stones in most DIY shops, but we have our own range of fantastic 4 to 6mm decorative stones for use with Easihold.

Life Expectancy:
We recommend to top-up your Easihold fixed stones annually to maintain stability and for an even more robust finish, we also produce a range of resin-bound surfacing products.

Here are our DIY resin bound kits, and here are Trade Kits for professionals.

Our resin-bound products are market-leading with incredible strength and are available in a variety of colours. Resin bound surfacing is recommended for areas that take heavy loads such as driveways and pathways or garden furniture areas.

IMPORTANT - READ BEFORE USE:

Over-saturation, caused by using more liquid than the recommended amount per square metre, will leave the surface wet and un-bonded. For best results, read our application guide which is available through the QR code on the bottle.

Easihold can be applied using three easy methods, each suited to a different type of application. You can pour it on, spray it on or mix it in.

Easihold can be poured on from a watering can. We recommend using a maximum of 1 litre per 1.2m² and 1x5 Litre Jerry can covers 6-8m² using Pour On Method per coat, ensuring your stones are evenly coated.

This method is quite straightforward, without the use of specialist equipment and ensures good penetration into the stones.

Easihold can be spray applied using a standard airless sprayer. For the spray application, you can double the coverage area of 1 litre of Easihold – covering up to 2.8m² per coat and 1x5 Litre Jerry can cover 12-14m² using Spray On Method per coat.

Spraying Easihold limits penetration into the base layer of the stones. Great for achieving a larger coverage but this method won’t provide as robust a surface finish. We would recommend this application method for decorative use only.

We recommend using 2 applications of Easihold when applying by the Pour On or Spray On method for the strongest finish. Ensure that the first coat has been allowed to fully dry - and don't saturate!

Sometimes pouring and spraying can risk splashing your paving, or surrounding areas. In these circumstances you can mix Easihold with your stones until they’re evenly coated – usually 0.8L - 1L is enough to coat a standard 25kg bag of stones and 1x5L Jerry can cover 6m² using hand-mix (6x bags of 25kg stones @ 20mm depth). The mixing method leaves the strongest finish - guaranteeing the stones are evenly coated throughout.

It’s important you apply Easihold in the right weather conditions. Warm weather and most importantly, dry conditions for the 48 hours after application will give you optimal performance from your Easihold binder.

Easihold is a water based, air drying product. As the water evaporates, our patented Easihold particles crosslink to bond and stabilise your stones! It’s very important Easihold is able to carry out this evaporation process to gain its strength.

When this doesn’t happen – for example in cold conditions or if you have applied too much Easihold and the stones are over saturated; the crosslinking process will not occur, and the final result will be compromised

The stones you use don’t have to be dry upon purchase, but we do recommend washing and letting them dry before use, as some new stones can arrive with a silty deposit. Contamination like this will prevent a strong bond being achieved between your stones. If you’re using existing stones, try to remove any dirt or debris prior to application, and leave them to dry before applying Easihold.

There are two important factors for a suitable base for Easihold. Firstly, the base has to be stable enough to support the traffic it is to receive. And secondly, the base should be free draining. Easihold is a water-based product and will start to break down if left submerged underwater for long periods of time.

Pour On:
Easihold can be poured from a watering can. We recommend using a maximum of 1 litre per 1.2 m² and 1x5 Litre Jerry can covers 6-8m² using Pour On method per coat, ensuring your stones are evenly coated. Ensure you use a watering can with a steady flow that is dispersing the Easihold liquid evenly across the stones.

This method is quite straightforward, without the use of specialist equipment and ensures good penetration into the stones.

The one main consideration with this method, and all methods of application of Easihold is over saturation. Easihold is air drying - application of excessive amounts of Easihold will leave the surface wet and unbonded.

Spray On:
Easihold can be spray applied using a standard airless sprayer. For the spray application, you can double the coverage area of 1 litre of Easihold – covering up to 2 m2 per litre.

Spraying Easihold limits penetration into the base layer of the stones. Great for achieving a larger coverage but this method won’t provide as robust a surface finish. We would recommend this application method for decorative use only.

2 Coats:
We recommend maximum of 1 litre per 2.8m² per coat and 1x5 litre Jerry can cover 12-14m² using Spray On Method per coat when applying by the Pour On or Spray On method for the strongest finish. Ensure that the first coat has been allowed to fully dry - don't over-saturate!

Mixing:
Sometimes pouring and spraying can risk splashing your paving, or surrounding areas. In these circumstances you can mix Easihold with your stones until they’re evenly coated – usually 0.8 L to 1L of Easihold is enough for 1x 25kg bag of stones and 1x5 Litre can cover 6m² using hand-mix (6x bags of 25kg stones @20mm depth). The mixing method leaves the strongest finish - guaranteeing the stones are evenly coated throughout.

You can typically only use this method of application with new stones - mixing with old, dirty stones could be difficult.

FAQ's

Will it darken the stones / give it a wet look?
Easihold dries clear (but is milky in large quantities) and will not change or add a colour to your stones. However, Easihold will bring out the natural colour of the stones - which is often interpreted as a change in colour. If you want to see how Easihold will change the colour, you can add water - the final result will be similar!

Will stones treated with Easihold support garden furniture?
No, and certainly not any furniture with isolated point loads. For wider loading bases it might be possible - but would be a case of trial and error.

Will Easihold work on rubber mulch?
Yes, we do know of plenty of customers who use successfully on rubber mulch.

How long after application can it rain?
The longer Easihold is left to dry, the better. Ideally Easihold would have 48 hours of good weather to dry in - that will give you the optimal result.

Is this product UV Stable?
Yes, Easihold is completely UV stable.

Is the product flammable?
No, easier is a water based product and is not flammable.

If you don't use it all, how long can you keep it for?
The shelf life of Easihold unopened is 12 months. Once opened, we would recommend to keep it in a cool, dry storage place.

Will it work if the stones are dirty or silty?
No, this contamination will stop a good bond being achieved between Easihold and the stones. We would recommend to wash the stones first and allow them to dry.

Do you have to clean the gravel first before using Easihold?
If the gravel is dirty then yes. The gravel doesn't have to be perfectly clean, but a hose to clean away the worst of it would be a good idea.

Will Easihold work on a patio?
Easihold will work on a patio which isn't to receive furniture. Easihold is great for occasional walking and light traffic. But for a busy patio, or a patio with furniture, we would recommend our Resin Bound Kits.

Will Easihold hold up in the Winter months?
Easihold is a water based product, and therefore should not be fully submerged in water for long periods of time because it will begin to break down. Therefore it's important that Easihold is applied on to surfaces with draining capabilities. It is possible to top up Easihold annually.

Can you use Easihold on a driveway?
You cannot! Easihold is not suitable to receive vehicle traffic.

Is Easihold SUDS Compliant?
Yes, Easihold leaves the stones entirely permeable and SUDS compliant.

Do you need a specialist spray gun for Easihold?
No, Easihold can be applied using a standard airless sprayer.

Can you jet wash the stones after treating with Easihold?
We wouldn't recommend to jet wash, that would be quite a lot of pressure directly on to the stones. But can clean with warm water.

How long will Easihold last on my stones?
It would depend on your usage. A good application, on to a free draining stable base would be expected to last 24 months. We would recommend to top up annually.

What size diameter stone would you recommend for Easihold?
We would recommend between 4mm and 10mm diameter for the best bond. But you can use stones up to 15mm and still achieve good results. Even larger stones can be bonded if clean and angular, but we wouldn't recommend for any foot traffic.

Would Easihold be suitable for a 20mm aggregate?
Easihold is perfect for stones 4mm to 10mm in diameter. Larger stones can still be bonded successfully, up to 20mm, but the strength is reduced for larger stones and so we wouldn't recommend for walking on.

How long do I have to wait after the first coat?
Easihold is air drying so it is important that you do not over-saturate the area being treated. Leave the first coat to dry for 24 hours or until fully dry before applying a second coat.

Would Easihold work on slate chippings?
Easihold will bond slate chippings, but because of their size, it would only be suitable for decorative purposes - we wouldn't recommend walking over.

What depth will Easihold work on?
Easihold is effective down to a maximum depth of 25mm. 20mm depth is generally the best depth for stones when treated with Easihold.

Does Easihold create a wet look?
Easihold provides a protective sheen, but doesn't create a wet look. It would be more described as a matt / silk sheen.

Does it leave the surface permeable?
Easihold coats the stones in a thin film, and leaves the stones capable of being penetrated by water as normal.

How many m2 does it cover?
Use a maximum of 1 litre per m2 when pouring on, and 1 litre per 2m2 when applying by spray application. For a more robust finish, you can apply two coats (once the first coat has dried).
