Vuba Resin Bound Pore Filler

In stock
Product Code :
V-DPF-147

The Vuba Resin Bound Pore Filler is a UV Stable, self levelling thixotropic resin sealer designed for application over aggregated resin bound screeds to remove porosity and improve cleanability.

Vuba Pore Filler is most commonly used to seal indoor resin bound systems. Resin bound screeds look spectacular in domestic settings - kitchens, pool surrounds and balconies. But they can be difficult to maintain. And that is where our pore filler for resin bound screeds come in useful!

Pore Filler is a two part epoxy sealer containing a special thixotropic. The application of Pore Filler is not a DIY friendly process. Excessive sealer and the appearance will turn 'milk', too little and the resin bound will remain porous. It is essential to obtain the correct balance, and that is done by the application procedure.

Pore Filler is supplied as a two part epoxy resin products, and like all epoxies it will cure after mixing. We have specially formulated Pore Filller to have a pot life 2 x that of competitor sealer products - giving you every chance of an optimal outcome.

Vuba Resin Bound Pore Filler is supplied in two sizes:

5.25kg
15.75kg

The composition of the Resin A and Activator is roughly 2:1.

For the 5.25kg size, the separate Resin and Activator weights are as follows:

Resin A: 3.58kg
Activator B: 1.67kg

For the 15.75kg size, the separate Resin and Activator weights are as follows:

Resin A:10.74kg
Activator B: 5.01kg

We do not recommend splitting units because doing so can result in the failure of the resin to cure. An incorrect ratio amount of more than 5% difference will prevent full curing.

1kg per 1mm per 1m2 is the coverage rate.

However, the coverage rates in a practical sense are quite difficult for this product - because it's difficult to say how many mm you will need to seal any given resin bound screed.

The variables are overall thickness, aggregate size, mix compaction, application technique.

Typically an average of 1mm thickness is sufficient to seal most porous, 1-3mm (aggregate size) 12mm thick resin bound screeds. Therefore as an approximation you would need:

1kg per 1m2

1 x 5.25kg Kit = 5m2 Approximately.

Step 1: Ensure you read our datasheet prior to application.
Step 2: Ensure the surface is clean, dry and ready for application.
Step 3: Mix both Resin A and Activator B using a slow speed stirrer - be careful not to add air into the mix by lifting out of the resin.
Step 4: Grout the mixed resin on to the resin bound aggregated surface. You can do this using a suqeegee, a spatula or a trowel.
Step 5 (most important): Ensure you remove excessive resin from the screed using a medium pile roller. The appearance of the sealer will not change dramatically from the uncured version to the cured version. Therefore, if you have excessive milky looking sealer left on the surface that will be there when cured.
Step 6: Leave to cure for 24-48 hours depending upon the temperarture.

Common Problems:
Application thickness - it is better to apply too thin than too thick. Too thin and you can have a second go at applciation. Too thick and you will have to relay the resin bound screed.
Curing time - this product has an extra long life expectancy so the final curing time is elongated. Do not traffic before it is fully cured.
