Hydraguard is a highly versatile, high performance Epoxy Resin Primer.

Capable of bonding to almost any surface, seals in excess moisture and contamination, whilst providing a suitable surface for almost all coatings or screeds to be applied to.

Hydraguard can also be or can be left as a single waterproofing, dust sealing, strengthening layer without a top coating. Typically used in basements or other wet or damp environments.

Typically used to:

> Waterproof Floors and Walls
> Treat Damp Surfaces
> Aid Bonding to Unsual Surfaces
> Increase Strength of Concrete

Each Kit consists of Two Parts Weighing 5kg.

Liquid Damp Proof Membrane

Hydraguard is a High Performance Primer. Roller applied, Hydraguard is a Liquid Damp Proof Membrane used to limit moisture release; improve the strength of substrates; seal pin holes and air pockets and provide an enhanced surface for bonding for subsequent coatings.

Damp Proof Membrane: Hydraguard limits the release of moisture to 5mg per m2 per day. This is sufficient to allow the substrate to continue curing successfully, whilst not allowing excessive moisture release which will cause mould, blistering or blooming.

This is perfect for coating floors and walls which contain high levels of moisture, and you would like a coating which will limit the release of moisture whilst not causing moisture related decay in the structure.

Strengthening Primer: Hydraguard will penetrate into the substrate, strengthening the base whilst leaving a film coating on the surface. Resin coatings and screeds can then bond chemically to the Hydraguard layer and create a monolithic layer.

Waterproofing: Hydragurad will seal and protect surfaces against moisture ingress. Hydraguard can be used as a base beneath permeable screeds such as Resin Bound, to prevent the ingress of water into the substrate. Usual on balconies for example.

Seal Pin Holes: Hydraguard is often used as a primer for levelling screeds, or resin screeds. Hydraguard will seal the surface against pin holes and ensure the final topping is smooth and seamless.

Hydraguard is available as a 5kg Two Part Epoxy Primer Kit and covers 20m2 in one coat on to a standard concrete surface.

Hydraguard is perfect for use on the following projects:

> Waterproofing the floor or wall of a basement
> Application to a weak or porous substrate to improve strength
> Application to unusual substrates such as plastic, tiles or paving
> Application on to concrete seal against air bubbles
> As a high performance primer for resin coatings and screeds

Hydraguard is extremely versatile. Capable of bonding to almost any surface, seals in excess moisture and contamination, whilst providing a suitable surface for almost all coatings or screeds to be applied to.

Hydraguard is supplied as a 5kg kit. The two parts are supplied pre-weighed ready to mix.

Each Kit will cover approximately 20m2 in one coat on a fairly good condidition substrate. A maximum of 30m2 could be achieved on the perfect surface, or as low as 1/2 of that on a profiled or uneven surface.

For garages and smaller areas, we would recommend allowing to 18m2 (for cutting in, roller absorption etc).

We are a leading manufacturer of resin systems, established in 2009. Hydraguard is a Vuba formulation and innovation, designed to improve the usability of surfaces without need for replacement.

By choosing a Vuba product, you are working with a leading ethical, award winning manufacturer in Resin Systems.

Hydraguard can be applied on to a number of substrates, please see information and guidance

Concrete / Cementitious Screeds: Hydraguard is designed to be applied on to concrete and cementitious screeds.

Floor Tiles: Hydraguard can be applied on to floor tiles as a bonding layer, to enable the successful application of subsequent coatings or screeds. Applicators will tend to seed with quartz.

Hard Landscaping / Paving: Hydraguard can be applied on to surfaces such as external tiles as a base before applying resin bound systems. Applicators will typically seed the primer with a quartz.

Bricks / Plaster / Wall Surfaces: Hydraguard can be applied to vertical surfaces to waterproof and mitigate against the effects of damp surfaces.

Plywood / Wood: Hydraguard can be used to seal wooden surfaces for subsequent coatings or screeds.

These guidelines are for general advice only. Please contact us with details of your specific project. We cannot guarantee the performance of Hydraguard in each scenario.

Hydraguard should be applied on to a clean, dry surface which is free from contamination.

We recommend to apply Hydraguard on to a mechanically prepared surface for optimal results. Suitable preparation would include acid etching, diamond grinding or shot blasting.

For resin bound surfacing, surface are typically prepared in the event of significant contamination preventing a bond between the epoxy primer and the genuine substrate.

Hydraguard is supplied as two pre-weighed parts. Simply pour the Part B into the Part A and allow to mix for approximately 2 minutes until the liquids are mixed thoroughly.

Hydraguard is applied using a brush and roller. Once the mixing has taken place, you should spread Hydraguard from a scuttle. A Medium pile roller is typically most suitable, depending upon the application.

Hydraguard cures from an exothermic reaction, so the more primer is kept in the same place like the tin, the less will be the pot life. Spread the primer out once it has mixed and begin cutting in / rolling

Once applied, allow Hydraguard to cure for 12-16 hours at 20oC, and longer for colder temperatures.

Hydraguard is typically part of a system which carries a warranty. For more information please contact us directly.
